Description:
Elgar's Dream was last performed by the Phil under the baton of Donald Hunt in memory of the late John Brodwell.

For this performamce, sponsored by LICS, the Phil is delighted to be joined by the RPO and the Leeds Festival Chorus under the baton of the latters conductor and artistic director Simon Wright.

The Dream of Gerontius has been part of the staple diet of choral societies almost since its composition, over 100 years ago, exploring as it does the mystery of life after death from the viewpoint of the Catholic faith but using the medium of Wagnerian leitmotif.
